This premium oolong tea is a Taiwanese classic and some say, one of the original teas produced in this region. Wen Shan is the name of a high mountain in Pinglin, Taibei County in Taiwan. Bao Zhong tea is processed with a minimum of rolling and drying, resulting in large, deep green leaves that have undergone only slight oxidation. This style of oolong tea is sometimes referred to as “green oolong”.
The emerald green, twisted leaves are lightly oxidized, lending definite vegetal green tea character with the distinct floral aroma and flavour notes that oolong tea drinkers love and expect. In the cup you’ll enjoy a very delicate infusion with floral hints of lily and lilac. True tea enthusiasts will delight in this cup – its also a great introduction to oolong tea for green tea lovers!
Origin: Tai bei County, Taiwan
Elevation: 3,280 ft
May we recommend that you consider Eastern style steeping to get the maximum enjoyment out of this exceptional leaf – use 3 grams of tea per 175ml (6fl oz) of water and short steeps (about a minute), enjoying multiple steeps. Brew this Oolong when you can take some time to sit and enjoy it and not when you are rushing about – it will produce the most perfect “be” moment if you do, and provide the energy to work vibrantly when finished!
