University of Nebraska-Lincoln Professor and PHd in Nutrition Science, Judy Albrecht, emphasizes the importance of properly washing fresh produce before eating to reduce harmful microorganisms that could cause foodborne illness.
Many kinds of microorganisms can be found on our own skin and the surfaces of the foods we eat. Many of these organisms, such as Staphylococcus Aureus and E. coli, are known to cause illness (click here to see a table of possible bacterial pathogens). It is in our best interests to make sure that as few of these microorganisms make it past our lines of defense as possible.
Approximately 95% of all vegetables and fruits have surface chemical residue. Even organically grown produce may have some chemical residue due to contaminants in the soil. VegiWash® uses the finest plant-derived ingredients to effectively remove pesticides, wax and chemical pollutants on the surface of produce. It ensures that fruits and vegetables are clean and safe to consume without affecting taste. After washing fruits and vegetables in VegiWash® solution, just rinse with clear water to remove any residues.
Other vegetable wash products require you to spray each fruit or vegetable item individually which can be laborious and require a lot of product to be used. VegiWash® make this much simpler and practical by allowing you to soak your vegetables using only a cap-full for each type of produce.
Use VegiWash® to protect your family from harmful pesticides while enjoying peace of mind. See the “Additional Information” tab for directions on how to use.
