This exceptional black tea from Yunnan province is made exclusively of young downy buds or ‘golden tips’, and pan fired to perfection. This particular one is made of the ancient big leaf tea trees, which possess a richer polyphenol content and contributes a brighter, more aromatic leaf.
Yunnan Golden Buds is also known as “Dian hong”, and is considered amoung the finest of black teas. It is also said that this tea was presented as a gift to Queen Elizabeth when she visited Yunnan, and was nicknamed “The Daughter’s Tea”.
The golden buds produce a brew that is amber in colour with a sweet, gentle aroma and no astringency. Soft and delicious with a smooth, malty taste, with notes of caramel and honey that leave a lingering sweet finish!
Pair this exquisite sweet black tea with turkey, lamb, beef, use to flavour chili, tea breads, serve with chocolate or recipes with cinnamon, nutmeg and pepper.
